Lucas Oil???
i just picked up some Lucas synthetic 5w30 motor oil that i hadnt seen before, or maybe just never noticed, but i got it because it says straight off the bottle:
"Exceeds ALL American AND European OEM specifications for API SM/SL/SJ/CF, ACEA A3-98, B3-98, B4-98, VW500/502/503/505/506, DaimlerChrysler 229.1, BMW Longlife Oil." also notes that it exceeds APISL and ILSACGF3 per this PDF
now the German Castrol 0w30 says:
"Exceeds European ACEA: A3, B3, B4; VW 502 00, 505 00, 503 01; MB 229.1, 229.3, 229.5; BMW LL-01; GM-LL-A-025, GM-LL-B-025 and the engine protection requirements of ILSAC GF-3 for API Certified Gasoline Engine Oils. Also notes API SL/SJ/SH/CF/CD
pretty much all the other oil bottles are missing several things on the list. but how do you guys think the two oils compare?
both oils come to around $8.00 a quart unless you can find the GC locally for a decent price...
looking at the specs they seem to have similar properties...
