Verification, difference in cruise cables?
I purchased a replacement cruise module from a member here and he assured me it was from a non-traction control car, yet the cable attached has the inline adjuster.
Thanks,
Kevin D.
I can take pics of either if you wish. Let me know.
You can easily tell if the module was from a non-traction or traction car by looking at the cable. If it has a red plastic guard and a black plastic clip on the end it is a non traction cable. If it only has a lead like metal connector on the end it is a traction cable. Just let me know if I am being too vague. Also the traction cable is ridicoulsy long (8 ft??) while the non-traction cable is only about 5.5 feet long.
I know the LT1's had like 3-4 different part numbers for cruise, but the one remanufactured one I found replaces all of them. So the part number may just determine which cable gets put on it.

That's why I was trying to get a known working non-TCS model to make sure my wiring is good. This just throws another unknown variable into the mix.

Unless you're running the entire body harness and not just using the relays/fuses for smog, fans, etc, I would just keep the cruise separate. Most of the wires come from the stalk and brake pedal, just one goes to the PCM.
