Interchangeable LT1 steering rack question...Please help

Interchangeable LT1 steering rack question...Please help My buddy has a 94 lt1 trans am m6. His steering rack has been giving him problems for the longest time, and I have a 94 LT1 z28 a4. We put the camaro steering rack in the trans am, and we get power to everything BUT the car won't start. His starter just recently broke on him (when you turn the car on you hear a bad grinding). Anyways, when he goes to turn the car on now, it won't crank, but you hear the electronic water pump kick in, and everything minus the cranking and starting.
If anyone has any help here, it's much apreciated as my buddy has had quiet a lot of problems with his car, and is really frustrated right now. It would be much apreciated on my part, and on his even more for any help here.

I'm no scientist but swapping racks should not have anything to do with whether the car cranks or not.
If the rack fit and you got the coupler on and the lines in (all of which you should), you are in business. I cannot think of any reason a steering rack would cause you to not start. Like you said, his starter is going out on him lately, but the rack is non-sequitor. Pull the starter.

Sweet, hope that takes care of it. It should though, especially because you wil be reattaching all the wires and whatnot...you might get rid of a few gremlins while you are at it. Check all the grounds while you are down there.
