Alternator problems!!!

I've been having trouble with a car i've been working on, it's a 1998 T/a for some reason, the alternator keeps failing after some wot runs, i replaced one yesterday and went for some wot runs to do some tuning, and the alternator took a dump, can you guys lead me in the right direction? help me find this gremlin.

Are you replacing them with Autozone junkers?

If you dig around, most people that replace them with reman alternators complain about them. Most end up biting the bullet and getting a new GM alternator, or replacing it with something a little tougher that puts out more amperage than stock. I think Ohio Generator is one company that makes them.
