Drivers side ground strap question?

Drivers side ground strap question? ok I have some alternator gauge and Fuel gauge fluctuations. I read a couple of threads about how the Ground strap on the Drivers side head can cause this.
I stuck my hand back there and only felt a two or three wire lead that seemsd to come from the coil packs and then attached to a bolt on the back of the head.
Where exactly is this purported ground strap? Is it like a normal copper exposed ground strap or is a couple of wires like I found? Is it on the front of the head or rear of the head. Towards the top of the head or the bottom of the head.
Dang it man, why did they ahve to stuff the damn motor so far back under the damn cowl!!!!

you're feeling the harness ground points back there.
look on the front lower corner of the engine block, near the alternator... there should be an exposed metal ground strap there.
