Default voltage regulator bad?

my lights pulse on startup very badly, but the pulsing goes away once the car has warmed up for a minute or two. and my alternator is putting out more than enough voltage. it's been doing this for about 3 months and i think is starting to get a little worse. is my voltage reg. more than likely the problem? how do i test/replace this component? where is it?

The voltage regulator is located inside the alternator on these cars.

I suggest that you check the terminals on the wire from tha altenator going to the battery block for any white corrosion which may inhibit a good connection. If you find any disassemble the connection and clean the terminals with the aresol battery termanal cleaner, or baking soda, or just a good ol fassioned wire brush before replacing a $200 altenator.
