Default Clutch sticking to floor...

I have an '00 Camaro Z28 that has 38k miles on it and last week I started having problems with the clutch sticking to the floor. I checked the clutch fluid and it was extremely low, so I put a little more in there. It helped slightly, but not much.

I took the car to the local Chevy dealership and their mechanics looked at it and couldn't find a leak, but they said the clutch was losing pressure. They offered to replace the clutch master cylinder -- $352 parts and labor. But the way they talked they weren't sure if that would even fix the problem. They said if that didn't fix it, they would need to tear into the tranny and replace cylinder accuator and perhaps install a clutch plate kit.

Should I go ahead and get the master cylinder replaced? Or get a 2nd opinion?

Just for grins and giggles check the clutch pedal spring under the dash and see if it's broken.

Just to make sure the stealership is not trying to take you fer a joy ride.

I am assuming you have headers, I wager you boiled the fluid, get it changed, also might as well do the slave cyl. My best bud's brother with his 02 z28, heads/cam, header, tune etc etc did the same thing. Clutch to the floor, and eventually broke a syncro and got the tranny jammed in 4th.

Here is a great link to help you diag and possibly fix.
