Default Bad Air Pump?

Just wondering... but how can I tell if my Air Pump is going bad? My car idles rough (sounds like it's deiseling... jumps up and down, not a lot, but enough to feel it, hear it, and se it on the tach). Somebody mentioned to me that the Air Pump might be going bad. That and my gas mileage is way down. I'm at a loss since I just had it tuned and nothing was mentioned to me about thrown codes or anything. Thanks for any help.

AIR pump would only be running for a short while on a cold start/re-start. I doubt your issues would have anything to do with an AIR pump.

Many things can cause a rough/unstable idle (vacuum leak, IAC motor, plugs/wires, injectors, fuel pump or filter, ignition coil(s), O2 sensor(s), MAF, bad tune, etc.). Even harder to track with a heavily modded car like yours.......

Doubt it's the air pump too - you can temporarily disable it by pulling the AIR PUMP fuse under the hood. It'll throw a code but the light will go back off after a couple cold starts after replacing it.

Dumb question, but what is the IAC motor? ***Brain fart in progress***

Idle Air Control.

It's a worm gear driven motor/valve on the driver's side of the TB that controls air flow into the intake beyond what the throttle plate allows at a given throttle position %.

Sometimes they go bad, or get carbon build-up. It pulls off with two torx screws removed. Located right above the TPS.
