Default Whole hub for a sensor?

I ran a diagnostics check on my car and the right front wheel speed sensor is constantly reading 0 mph. I went up to the dealer and they said you have to buy the whole hub as an assembly and that you can't just get the sensor.

Is there anywhere in the aftermarket that I can get just the sensor? The ring is fine, all I need is the little plug in sensor. Just seems a little ridiculous to me.

No, it is a whole assembly. I just took mine off last week. I wanted to repack the wheel bearings as some preventive maintence, but the bearings are a sealed unit.

Atleast the speed sensor is easy to replace. 4 bolts and the hub comes right off

Yea, I realize that my question was pretty stupid after getting under there and looking at it. Checked all the wiring section by section and then as a unit and it's all fine so I guess I'm buying a new hub assembly.

Guess it's time to cut another check to GM...

Anyways, thanks for the info, I promise I'm not really that stupid

You can check the sensor by unplugging th connector, hook a voltmeter to it, spin the hub and it should produce voltage (erratic readings though) if it's working correctly.
