Default Interior lights not working

I have searched and searched I keep finding the same answers on my questions.

My interior lights are not working, dash, radio. The courtesy lights will work though. I checked and replaced the 5a Dimmer fuse as well as the 20 Tail switch.

The problem occured after I took my car to a place to get new speakers put in. The driver side was not working. The guy put in the new speakers, the driver front was not playing as loud as the rest. Then it kept blowing out the dimmer fuse. Now that fuse section is not even getting any power, just ground.

The previous owner of the car had an aftermarket headunit in the car and put the stock one back in. Is it possible something is not wired right there that is causing it to blow. I have had the car a few months and had no problems with the dimmer/interior lights until the speakers were changed out. I am stumped, any help would be appreciated.

Would crossing the wires not provide power to the fuse?

My only concern is that none of that wiring was touched to install speakers
