Default No key for a 3rd gen

I'm buying a 1990 RS with a carburated 350. The car originally came with a 305TPI. The problem is that the car was broke into car while it was sitting outside his barn and the clowns took the keys to it. So now I'm told by a Chevrolet dealership that they can't make another one due to its age. So I'm wondering what the best way is to get this car started or replace the key.

Would greatly accept any advice

change lock cylinder or for now break the key cylinder off and use a screw driver to start

There are a few things you can do. Chande the cylinder or whole steering column. Or check out thirdgen.com for a key resistor pkg. Your car has vats so your key had one of 14 different resistor chips on it. There is a pkg you can but to test out which resistor you have. When you find out which one it is call a locksmith that molds keys and they will make it out of the resistor key that is included in the key pkg. But since you said that the TPI setup was removed you may not have the computer which means no vats. Its your choice though.
