HELP! Replaced Transmission Mount...
HELP! Replaced Transmission Mount... Well, I just replaced my transmission mount in my 2000 Firehawk with an Energy Suspension high performance mount (my old one was really shot cracked all over). Now my shifter is off to the right and when I go to put it in reverse it actually bumps my center console...then upon acceleration my car vibrates like crazy! Was my old mount hiding another problem I may have or did I just screw up something on the install? I took it off and redid it twice and still the same problem...any advice would be appreciated! Could this be something else???

i had a similar problem with a motor mount (non ls1) i returned the mount and got a new one that fit just fine. perhaps they had a "bad batch"? i would call them, if this is not the answer maybe they can tell you what the problem is if it is somthing common
Mushy old mount could have been "compensating" for bad motor mounts as well.
Now with a new, stiffer mount you may be seeing the true position of the motor.
That's my guess, I would check them just to be sure.....

It's really not a good idea to use a poly trans mount, with stock rubber motor mounts. Especially if they're worn out. I think you'd see much better results, using poly motor mounts and a new stock trans mount. I'm tired of my poly trans mount if anybody needs one. I have 2 ( Prothane and Energy).
