Default High startup idle

Well to start it out my Father put 87 octane in the car so when i crank it up the car revs to about 1500-1700 rpm and then comes back down and runs rough for a few minutes so rough that it sounds like its camming, i put 93 octane back in the car but will this high idle go away after it flushes all the cruddy gas out of the sysytem?

Give it a few driving cycles and see if it doesn't reset and relearn - it should be OK.

I sometimes use 87 octane and that doesn't happen to me.

Perhaps some fuel system cleaner would clean up your idle a bit.
