Default Trunk latch

I tryed to shut my trunk today and it wouldnt latch back.Does anyone know what might be the problem? I thought the carpet was getting in the way but it's not. Thanks

Did the latch somehow get latched? When you shut the hatch that little u shaped bar slides into the slot and a little arm is force over it to latch. You can use the key to release the lock and then use your finger to put the latch back into the open position.

Thats the only thing I can think of that would "all of the sudden" keep it from latching.

yeah---take a screwdriver and move that latch around ...I have had to once...
