Default JB Weld

Ive had a leak on my air blockoffs on my headers, so I decided to use jb weld to seal them for good. My question is do I need a gasket or something between the plates and the tube or should I just jb weld them together? Also, should I cover the hole or just put the jb weld around it and put the plate on top. Thanks for the help.

The only thing about putting gaskets on is then you have to worry about the jb weld binding to the gaskets and the plate. if something should fail in there, more than likely the gasket, and caused a leak I might have to rip all of it off if its even possible.
