Default oil leak?

ive always had an oil leak on my car. roughly 5 drops a night. now its leaking horribly about a drop a second when running. i pulled the starter off to look at the fly wheel and there was oil there. i also pulled off the intake and there was oil all around. it was the panel over the lifter valley. now that doesnt look like it was leaking enough for a drop a second. i also had the car on jack stands while running and the majority of the oil was dripping through the starter and through the bell housing drip hole. my question is do you guys think its the intake? or the rear main seal or possibly something else in the bell housing? ill post pictures later. also the oil has coated the top half of the bell housing with crap and the back side of the motor.

Sounds like a main seal leak if its coming in through the bellhousing..

agreed. You need to replace your rear main seal most likely.

so this is like a 3 hour job to replace that from my understanding. if youve kept an eye on your oil level and made sure it didnt drop too low, how big of a deal is this issue?

It can become a expensive non needed fix if it is not fixed now. Such as on the off chance it might find a way to leak into the clutch and decrease friction or it could fully go and have no oil pressure ect. Might was well do it now and have no worries later.

Default Replacing rear main seal

Yes, you will have to pull the transmission. That is the hard part of the job. If you have access to a lift, it will make it worlds easier.
