I have a craftsman jack that I have gotten more than good use out of. The thing is proabably 10+ years and still works just fine.

i got a jack from menards and it is very very nice, it weights 80.5 pounds, lifts 2 1/4 ton and for your cushion thing steal one off a bicycle, HAHA jk

I used to have the $15 jack with 2pc handle. I finally went to Harbor Frieght and got the 4000lb aluminum jack. It was on sale and with another coupon, I got it for less than $150. (It's on-line for $200).
I haven't used it much, so I can't vouch for it's durability.
