Default Burning Oil!

A friend of mine has 99 Z28 and his "low oil" light keeps coming on and each time he has to add a quart. He seafoamed the car to see if it would help and nothing. Another we noticed is that he's blowing a dark gray cloud of smoke out of his exhaust everytime he floors it or revs the car. The smoke started to appear after he installed his LM1. The car only has 18,000 miles he just got it but keeps it in great shape always uses 91 or 93 at the pump and always keeps his fluids fresh. Can anyone help us figure out what the problem is?

Can't see how a wideband sensor would do that.
First thing I would do is a compression check and leakdown test, to see if the valves or rings are leaking.

is he sure, that the oil is actually low...or is he just going off of that light....??

he just added a different sensor to the car which is electrical and always has a chance of messing another sensor up in the car.....ie...that little low oil sensor on the pan...has a high tendancy of going out....

i think i may have the same problem with my sensor. the low oil light has been coming on for the last couple weeks, but i have not seen any leaks, and it runs fine. i've also added oil and it is still full. where is this sensor at, and do i need to replace it or just clean it?

its on the oil pan(sensor). Do a search because i asked this question a few weeks ago and found out it was only the connection of the low oil sensor on the pan that was wrong, the oil level was right all along.
