Need Help.small Crack In Block!

My torque convertor exploded in my car yesterday. it trashed the tranny, flywheel, starter, and cracked the back of the block. im still in high school and dont have the cash for a new block. it didnt do any internal damage, but it cracked a water jacket in the back of the block. no chucks are gone just an outside crack. what can i do? can it be welded without tearing the motor apart? im in a bad predicament. i need to know what i can do. all possible options that anyone knows about. thanks guys, james

Grind a small valley in it the length of the crack carefully. Then mix up some jb weld and put over it and you should be fine. You did not say if it was leaking water or not and that determines how effective the fix will be. But I have seen jb weld used in some incredible places with good results.

LOL thanks guys. The thing is it was a forged motor with 15k miles on it. the motor idled ok although was leaking antifreeze. nothing internally went wrong with the motor. this is my first LS1 and this was how the car was when i bought it. i dont know alot about them and was hoping if nothing went wrong inside the motor and get a new block, bearing, rings, gaskets, etc...anyone know if that would be safe or would it be a bad idea? the bad thing is i just got it tuned and a descent trans went to **** quick. it slipped barely into overdrive and when i got back it slipped 2-4. then it exploded 2 days later after i picked it up. dunno what happened they wont return my calls or even answer them. even left messages...
