Coolant overflowing????

I turned my car off tonight and looked like i had coolant boiling back thru the fill cap or the overfill. I couldn't tell which it was dark. just put the radiator back in i didnt know if i might have overfilled it ???

You cant over fill a radiator. You probably need to bleed the system some more.

Sounds like you have air in the system still.

It will bleed most of it itself as long as you keep the recovery tank full. It's possible the cap could be bad too.

Welli think you'll helped me fixed the problem. I rebleeded the system and filled the reservoir up ( itwas empty almost) and it does fine now. Im guessing the reservoir was low and sucking air in the system. Thanks LS1tech members

any other fixes? i keep having it boil up through the rez. im replaceing my tstat and upper/lower rad. hoses today to see if that fixes it....

i JUST had the same problem

lol geez this is common. I replaced my radiator cap($7.50 FROM DEALER) and it fixed it. The seals were cracked.

well i replaced my radiator cap and the problem persisted, a month later (today) it dawned on me to replace the rez. cap. ill get back to you if it works. as for other people, might also be the radiator hoses (upper or lower) which i also replaced along with the thermastat. all this before i thought to just replace the rez. cap =( wasted money tsk tsk.

EDIT: Nope. still gettin it.
