Bad Squeak!!!
Bad Squeak!!! I've got a bad squeak coming from my car. It sounds like metal on metal rubbing and it increases speed the faster I go. Could this be wheel bearings or u-joints or what? I can't jack it up for a few days to look around but what do you think it could be? It's pretty loud!

well I know the brakes are warped because stopping hard shakes the car pretty bad. I guess it could be a worn brake pad but I've heard that sound before, it's even louder than this and when you press on the brakes, don't you get a really loud metallic screeching??? I don't have anything like that. The brake pads are silent

Just pull your front wheels off and look at the thickness of the pads on both the inside and out side of each front caliper. The inner pad and outer pad might be wearing differently. I had an awful noise on one side. I thought it was a wheel bearing so I bought one. When I took the wheel off, one pad had grounded out on it's wear indicator. The others were getting close but would have lasted much longer. So the sound tricked me into thinking that I had a problem with one wheel.
