How do you access the steering column?

How do you access the steering column? My tilt-wheel seems to be a bit loose, so the wheel bounces up and down on rough roads/undulations. Wanted to take a look inside the column to see if anything could be adjusted, but cant seem to get the plastic covering off. I got the steering wheel off, and then I was able to remove two plastic cover pieces on the left side of the wheel, but there isnt anything else that seems to want to come off to access the rest of the internal parts. Theres a warning sticker on a plastic piece on the end of the steering column where the airbag used to be, does that pop off? While im at it, how do I get access to the hazard switch in the column? Any help would be appreciated 
theres a clip in the center holding the airbag stuff in... remove it, and the airbag part comes out.
next, rent/buy a lock plate tool.
the tool screws onto the steering shaft, then uses a U-piece to depress the plate inward... this allows you to remove the retaining clip/ring from the center....
after that, its all small screws or it slips off... just be sure to take a picture or notes because there are alot of small parts.. most people are confused by the turn signal cam part...
once you have it apart enough, you'll find the column pivot bolts.. they're probably loose.
