All of a sudden my brights won't come on. The switch doesn't even seem to click. Do I have to get into the steering column to replace it? I never have taken apart steering column, so any advice would be great.
Anybody replaced the switch before? Seems like a pain.
If you're comfortable removing the steering wheel and unplugging air bags then no, not too big of a pain. Just take a peek at a haynes manual or buy one for that matter, because you'll need to rent a lock plate removal tool and buy some snap ring pliers if you don't own any. If on the other hand you cringe at the thought of replacing your air filter then I would leave it up to a pro.
P.S. If you go the DIY route make sure you disconnect the battery's negative terminal and wait like 5 min. before you start working around the airbag in order to prevent accidental deployment.
