alt. help needed
alt. help needed replaced alt. 3 times in a month, battery holds charge, replaced starter, have installed the march power and amp pulley kit, what should i do??? check guage light comes on and the volt guage is around 10 or less volts!!
First check your codes. If this is the code your getting P01637, that is the plug right on top of your alternator. Get that replaced. I went through 3 alternators before I realized that was the culprit to my alternator problems. It may look fine, but that one little wire doesn't have much slack. I got mine at the dealer. They will give you one that has three wires, just cut the ones you don't need.............
Check for corrosion too, I'm having a similar problem and my POS+ terminal looks like hell from when the factory battery leaked. Im'a have to replace the whole wiring kit I think.
