Default rough idle, hesitation when accelerating

Ok so my car has been acting up lately. It is idling really rough and will shake pretty bad at a stand still and at times when I accelerate it feels like the throttle is stuck for a few seconds. Like I will accelerate in first and it will hesitate and the car shakes, then if I stay on the gas for a few it will kick in and accelerate fine. Any ideas what might be causing this. I also have a misfire....was going to change my plugs and see if that solved the misfire.

If it's close to stock, I'd say MAF and NBO2's if you asked me to guess. A dirty MAF and lazy O2's will have those symptoms.

i just fixed this problem in my car today....i had a bad missfire and had the same symptoms you described. I changed my two fron o2 sensors with bosch 13111 from a c5 corvette rear o2 sensor....you dont have to extend them and theyre supposed to be stronger...this fixed my problem instantly. I also had an insufficient activity bank 2 sensor 1 which is the passenger side...hope this helps

The car has longtubes, an offroad Y, catback and a few other bolt ons. MAF is stock GM but descreened...

Where did you get the C5 o2 sensors? how much?

Have you checked your fuel pressure?

Sounds fuel related because of the hesitation and than going okay. how many miles are on the car ?? Check fuel pump/filter/injectors. I don't think it's likely, but easy enough to check -- Plugs/Wires.
Throttle Stuck: Look over your throttle body, check and make sure the blade is opening and closing nicely as you rev the engine. Are you throwing and DTC's -- SES light on?

sounds exactly like a o2 problem. I would find someone with ls1edit, hp tuners, autotap or something else to see your o2 numbers first. If that isn't the culprit then I would look at the plugs, then fuel pump.

Also how long has it been since you changed your fuel filter?

The car has 103k miles.....I haven't changed the fuel filter before. Up until now the car has run really great the whole time I have had it, with minimal problems. I will see about a shop running ls1edit or something to check my 02 numbers. Would a hypertech work? I have one that I used to calibrate my speedometer when my gears were installed.....

The SES light has been on since I installed the headers and offroad y pipe....

Try replacing the wires, I'm having the same problem after h/c longtubes ory, ls6 intake swap, just replaced the intake gaskets and injector o-rings with no luck. Would be doing wires right now but no one has them local.

the wires are MSD superconductors, you think that could be it?

i am going to change the fuel filter and hopefully get someone to scan it and see what the o2s look like

Replaced my plug wires, car runs a lot smoother when it's not having this problem, unfortunatly the problem is only sometimes, so I'll have to replace the o2's with some others I got lying around, I'll let you know how that goes.

If you haven't bought the o2's yet get the corvette o2's sensors. the bosch ones, can't remember the part number off hand. They will work better with a long tube set up on our cars. they have a wider heat range than out stockers.
