Oil Pressure lower than normal

My oil pressure i noticed was down from idling at 40 to 20, and then under gentle acceleration it got up to almost 40, i didnt wanna go WOT.

How do i check to see if its the sending unit thats the problem or not?

If this is the first time it's ever done this at an idle, then I'd say that a 20 PSI drop is pretty significant. What you're describing is normal on my car after the oil gets up to temperature. As far as checking it goes, not sure if there is a quick way, but hooking up mechanical gauge would probably give you an answer.
