Security Light, Problem with Starting Car I've got a problem with starting my car when it is very hot outside. I'll go to start it and everything turns on but the engine won't turn on. I've already had a problem with the VATS and I bypassed that by wiring in my spare key. That was more than 5 months ago. I'll have to wait 2-3 minutes until the security light stops blinking or I'll have to push it into the shade and wait for it to cool off a little.
Anyone know what all is involved in triggering the security light. I've done some searching and someone mentioned that the starter may be getting hot and causing the security problem, but I don't even know if they are somehow linked.

Got it fixed. I had a resistor soldered on instead of my spare key to bypass the VATS. The key had come loose and wouldn't give the VATS the proper reading.
