Need Help broken t top lock

Default Need Help broken t top lock

Well today I took off my t top I unlocked it and as I pulled the key out the whole lock itself came out with the key I did put it back in and it kind of twisted back into place but didnt stay in. I can also hear a little metal piece inside of the t top when i shake it around a little bit. My question is should i start looking for another t top or is their a way to replace whatever may have broke off? I didnt try to put it back in place and lock it but I should have

please give me some opinons hopfully someone here has been down this road Ill take a better look at it tomorrow

did the clip just fall out. take the thing apart and get a good look at it.

Yep, take it apart and look inside. No need for a new t-top - you'd want to use the same key lock cyl so the key matches with a replacement anyway.

Hey thanks alot guys im going to take it apart tomorrow and see what it looks like and figure it out. I wasnt sure if it was fixable or not but ill take a real good look at it tomorrow. Kind of sucks I just replaced my turn signal bulbs and then new rear speakers and now this happens. I guess when it rains it pours o well ill figure it out

Ok so I took off the 2 screw like holding on the cover and their were 2 more i didnt take off and the clip fell out of the side. do I have to take off the actual t top handle to remove the plastic case around it and if i do how does that handle come off
sorry to bug everyone but im still stumped here ive been working most of the weekend so I havent really had time to play with it

i appriciate all responses

To take the cover off, yes, you have to remove the handle. One way, either fully open or fully close, makes getting the little clip that holds the handle off much easier, but I can't remember which.

From there you basically yank the handle off, take off the two screws on either end of the t-top itself and wiggle the cover off.
