Default P0118 High voltage ECT sensor...

Ok I guess the search isnt working. I know theres quite a few threads about this. Anyway Im guessing something isnt working right. The car runs rich when warm (per gas stink) and has a rough idle. The code reads higher input than expected. Im guessing its not ever telling the PCM the cars warm. What should be replaced? The sensor in the head or the wiring? The car runs the same and revs the same with it plugged in or not. With the slight stumble when blipping the throttlebody. How much does the sensor cost and is it dealer only? Cant seem to find it on the net.

Thanks for the help,

Erik

If the wiring/connection looks good I'd just replace the sensor. GM PN is 15326388 and lists for about $32 - probably much cheaper from another source. Is your gauge reading low? Also see www.gearchatter.com/viewtopic9383.php

Ok replaced the ect sensor and the dummy temp gauge reads higher. But now its hesitating. Took it back to autozone and now I have more CEL's. A cylinder 6 misfire. something about air/fuel metering and my bank 1 primary O2 is shot. The guy didnt know how to print the codes out and I should have wrote em down but this is pissin me off. I cleaned the MAF this weekend. I just replaced the O2 and Im waitin for the car to cool down so I can check the #6 cylinder plug wires. Dammit....

Yeah, always look over their shoulder and write the codes down. #6 is on the opposite side of bank 1 (if they were correct). After checking I'd reset the PCM and see what happens and have them read again.

thanks for the reply. As for an update I swapped the MAF, changed the ECT sensor, a new driver side O2, put in O2 sims but things are just gettin worse. The car ran fine before I put in the new ECT and cleaned the MAF. I did that first at the same time. When I started it back up I had this hesitation and its gettin worse. I did find one hard burnt MSD wire but that was cyl 4 not 6 thats reporting a misfire. 6 looked fine. Im annoyed

Check your plugs. You may have fouled them out from running so rich.
