help, drilled the wrong damn rivets
I ended up drilling out the rivets that held the entire window lift assembly, not just the motor and now I'm stuck.
I can't seem to figure out how the hell i'm going to fix this because I don't see any holes in the assembly to replace the rivets with bolts like I would with the motor.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
i have not a clue how to put the assembly back together, but from looking at how he did his, you can keep drilling where the rivets were to hold the assembly to the door, you gonna have a hell of a time, and then just buy some bolts that'll fit.
not a major disaster but alot more work than necessary.
I need the car tomorrow and it's supposed to rain so I guess my best option right now is to just find something to jam in the door and keep the window up
I feel like a retard because even the first time I did a motor I had no problems, lol.

I tried over night to line it up so I could drill things out and bolt everything back in but I couldn't quite get it right so I took it to our family mechanic. He got it done in a day and charged the usual hourly since I already had parts and such.
Unfortunately just a few days later, the car was in an accident and is now being declared a total loss
. I was really attached to the t/a so I'm sad to see it go after almost 6 years. I'm now considering just holding the settlement check until I can get enough money together to pick up a used C5 as a replacement for my poor t/a. I figure it'll be around Feb by then probably, so it'll be 08 then and I can most likely pick up a good deal seeing as it's a sports car in the dead of Chicago winter. I'll store it and drive my temporary car until it warms up in march/april or so finally when I can bring the vette out to play.
Here's hoping it works out the way I plan!
