DIFFERENCE in AIR LIDS
QUICK HELP in air lid difference !!! I was trying to find out for a friend what the difference is in a base trans am air lid, and a ws6 air lid. I have the ws6 and he was wanting to do a stock ws6 conversion (hood,lid,ext). I told him you would just need these parts......but please tell me if there is something else he would need !

Just buy an aftermarket lid like SLP , MTI or even the FIPK . Not positive but onthe stockerram air it seems that the bottom part is different but not positive .
It should not be that hard to see if it fits as is but you can get alot more power out of an aftermarket air lid .

WS6s have taller base lid than T/As. What I've noticed also that you can't put aftermarket lid that is made for camaros/T/A/formulas into WS6 because of that taller base. This is what I saw to one of my friend's lid he got from my other friend's 99 SS that got totaled and decided to put it on to his 2K WS6. Needless to say, it don't seal/fit right. This SLP brand btw. When he tried my other friend's SLP lid from his CETA WS6 it fit perfect to his 2K WS6.
in order to make that ram air lid exactly like the WS6, you need to purchase the raised air lid base (the lower portion of the air lid). You can find them on ebay, many people are selling them.

Notice how the base has the lid raised up higher than a normal LS1. Then i would get an aftermarket air lid to put ontop (SLP, Granatelli, ect...)

I know that aftermarket lids flow better than just the ws6 as I have the MTI lid on my ws6, the person wondering about the parts I have for sale shown is over at ls1.com , He has a 96 lt1 and was wanting to convert it to a ws6 , I know he has to change the radiator support but im not sure if he can even make the parts fit an lt1 as I dont know much about those years AT ALL ...can anybody help me out?
