01 Suburban - Odometer/Trip Odometer Indicator

01 suburban with auto trans, 120k miles, 4wd ...... the odometer/trip odometer indicator has been stuck on the trip odometer for awhile. i'm unable to change between the two via the dash gauge mounted switch.

is this a gauge cluster problem, or is there a switch somewhere that is not part of the cluster ????

the solution for my recent thread on the 99 z28 trip odometer constantly zero-ing out was that it indicated a faulty charging system. i replaced the battery and solved the problem. is this the same sort of issue ???

My '01 Tahoe would say "error" if I tried to switch it. It turnrd out to be the cluster and had to get it replaced. Thank god for warranty work. Cluster would have cost $400.

i figured that it would be the cluster ...... sure couldn't be anything cheap !!!! it's a slight irritation that i can live with for awhile. eventually, though, these little things really bother me, and then i'll have to fix it.

there are places online that repair them for pretty cheap. or you could get an escalade cluster. you get the 120mph speedo and a built in tranny gauge that works off your factory sensor.
