excitor wire question
I went to the Chevy dealer and they sold me a universal type pigtail with 4 wires coming off. I assume when you splice in, you just nip off the other 3?
Has anyone else gotten that part from their dealer?
I want to try this before pulling the alternator again, since I just put this one in 2 weeks ago, and I'm having the same symptoms now as when I replaced it the first time. The battery is brand new.
i suppose you could... but its an underhood connection. corrosion from constant exposure to the elements will eventually cause most splices to fail.
you can if thats what you normally do for an underhood connection.. its not special or anything.. i just dont recommend it for permanent fixes underhood.
I would like to pull this wire from the top of the engine to work on it, is that possible or do I have to get back under the car?
That is, if I make it home from work today just on the battery alone..
