Starting Issues I have a 97 v6 first off. I also just had an alarm and remote start installed little over a month ago, dont know if its related at all, but just for info.
I just put my new alt in, when I was hooking the postive cable up I already had the negative hooked up (I know I fucked that up) and it sparked a little. Now when I turned the key to acc and i have power, I can listen to the radio, ect... I go to the on position and it 'clicks' once and all my power is gone. Tried reconnecting the battery, same thing. I havent had any starting issues at all. My alt was charging low is why I replaced it. I went under the car while it was trying to be started, it sounded like the starter made the click noise.
I just hooked a battery tester up, it was reading about 12 with nothing on. turned the key to the start or on position and it read a litttle less than 11. So i cranked it over for the hell of it and it turned and turned over so i tried again this time gave it a little gas and it fired up. let it run for a couple mins, disconnected the battery tester, turned it off. went to turn it back on and it did the same thing, click and lose power.
Does that give anyone an idication of anything? I need help/to get this fixed asap

You might have a security issue. After it doesn't start, wait 10 min and try again. If it starts after a 10 min wait then it's the security or Pass-Key system. The new alarm is likely the source of your problem. Keep us posted.
