mastercylinder cap Has any one else had brake fluid pool on the top of their mastercylinder? I can't get my cap to make a seal that won't leak, and I am attributing my partially soft brake pedal to the fact that I have a big leak at the cap. The rubber gasket does not seem worn and I have tried adding a spacer to increase its pressure applied when tightened down but to no avail. Any help appreciated.

Mine leaked...
fixed it with a new rubber gasket from AutoZone. It was in that HELP section with all the various parts that break on cars.
I don't think this is the reason for a soft pedal. A bleed or some new lines or pads with a higher coefficiant of friction may be in order.

I blead the system twice and that helped greatly. Also two days ago I changed all pads and rotors so I expect my friction materials to all be in order. I gave thought too getting a power bleed to help eliminate all air, but i'm not sure how much of my pedal is normal for these abs cars. I will buy a new gasket and see what happens. thanks.
