Default Euro headlights

Does anyone know if the Euro headlights are made of the same plastic (the outside, clear part) as the domestic models?? Could they be actual glass??

I just replaced my OEMs on my 98 vert. Light is MUCH brighter and they seem to be holding up as well as originals.

Also, has ayone found anything that can clean/de-cloud our plastic headlight covers better than the Meguiars Plastic X stuff?? It helped a lot, but just wondering if there's anything out there to get them even closer to clear?

The outside lens of all LS1 camaro lights are plastic. OEM lenses feel thicker to me, and are probably a better grade of plastic.

3M makes multiple levels (aggresiveness) of plastic polish. It works very well. There is a thread about fixing fogged lenses. Try a search for foggy headlight or something similar.

Very carefully pried off the seals, cleaned them with brake cleaner, regreased with hi temp silicone grease, and replaced the undamaged seals. Took about 2.5 - 3 hours for all of them. Put em back on, and VOILA!! the chirp was gone, for about 10 days. Ended up replacing the AC idler pulley( Dealer, NAPA and AUTOZONE all ordered the wrong one on their first attempt!) If you want to go to the trouble of doing it, just make sure that you check the bearings carefully for excessive play after you clean them. Usually, one or more of them will be really loose. Grease is a temporary fix for bearings worn beyond their tolerances...
What does that have to do with plastic headlights?

The 3M multiple step process works great on this type of stuff.

If they are really bad (severe haze, etc) you'll need to wetsand first.

Thanks, ALL. I guess I'll have to search for the 3M stuff at my local auto body shop supplier.
