Default Where do I begin to look?

I changed my oil about 1,500 miles ago and i'm getting a low oil light on the dash board of my 94 Camaro 3.4L V6. Checked the oil too and its real low. Its my daily driver, so its desired, but not essential. Theres no oil on my drive way when its parked either. I'm pretty sure its leaking from somewhere though. Then i can sometimes smell the fumes too. Where should I begin to look for problems? I can provide pictures if someone has a good place to start with, but I really dont want to go tearing things apart just yet until I good a good understanding of the possibilities where the problem could be occuring.

Thanks

Any help would be appreciated

Do you have smoke coming out of your exhaust? With no visible leaks it sounds like it may be your piston rings. i used to have that same camaro w/o any problems and i cannot think of anything else it could be.
