Manual Vs Automatic Columns Well, last night I went to turn my key and it just spun without engaging anything. Then, I went to get out and realized that the steering wheel's tilt was loose and the whole steering wheel was just flopping around.
Quite frankly, I don't want to deal with pulling the column apart and dealing with all the misc bars, pins, springs etc that are in there to figure out WTF happened.
Besides the shifter interloc, what are the differences between the automatic and manual columns? I have a manual car, but also happen to have an automatic column sitting on my dining room table. Will I be able to swap my key cylinder from my column into the new one?
