RPM puzzle
Hey guys, I have a puzzle if anyone wants to try their hand at it. Here it goes:
After running for about 30 to 90 min, the car spins at about 2500 rpms when it gets gas before it slowly comes down over a minute or a few, to its regular idle speed (in neutral). Also, since it has started doing that, it is also more prone to stall immediately after starting, which I try to rectify by flooding it with gas as soon as it starts. This all started after a recent ‘upgrade’, here’s the setup:
1998 Z28 camaro with the following: manual trans, 5.3L ported heads w/ larger valves, comp cams 224/228 .581 lift cam, comp cams 918 springs, dual timing chain, LS6 oil pump, cometic gaskets, pacesetter headers, bosch O2 sensors, TSP catted Y-pipe, LS6 intake, SLP ported throttle body, 1999 style valve covers, free-ram air, SLP lid, SLP dual/dual exhaust, UD pulley, NRK TR-55 sparkplugs. Deleted AIR/EGR/rear O2s.
I did all the work at once, and for the curious, it dyno’d 410 rwhp.
