security ligh on starting problem

have an 02 trans am ws6 and the security light flashes with key on and engine off. when u try to start the car it wont. u have to turn the key off and on several times before it will start. any idea what the problem is.

Clean your key, and clean the ignition (alcohol on a cotton swab).

When it flashes, don't even bother trying to start it for the next 3 minutes or so to let the system reset.

Also...

This has been asked before, in fact just a few threads below this one is one with the same issue. Use your eyes

live the key on ignition On engine Off for a good 5-10 minutes, then try
