Default Help Turn Signal Problem

I have a 1998 Z28 and when push the turn signal lever down to go left it works fine but the lever does not return to the normal position after turning. If I use the right signal the lever goes back up by itself so this just happens when I use the left signal and I have to put it in the normal position myself to turn off the signal. Is this a big fix? I also think I heard something fall off it inside when it first happened like a part fell off. Any ideas appreciated TYIA

It sounds like your turn signal switching mechanism needs replacing. And yeah, it is a real pain to replace. Getting the steering wheel off isn't too bad (you still need a steering wheel puller to get it off), but getting that mechanism out is a real pita. I'd suggest taking it somewhere and having it done.
