Air Bag connection question

Air Bag connection question
I swapped a 2000 Trans Am steering wheel in my 93, it all worked fine except the air bag connector is different. I looked at a 2000, and the wiring is the same but just the connector is different. If I got the connector, would I be able to splice it in to my existing wiring or would there be some sort of issue?

Repair manuals say not to because of corrision issues. Use a good solder and heat shrink and it will be fine.
GM actually makes a repair kit with special solder and heatshrink that will last a long time. Seriously, your car isn't going to last the +30 years for it to be a corrision issue.
DO NOT use a crimp connector or other type of quick connector. Solder only.

Most airbag systems work off a very precise resistance reading-
I was trained to never splice air bag wiring, and most of the wire is a very fine strand called angelhair. I would find a complete harness.
