Default dash, interior, and head lights flicker!!

Hey guys. I have a 99 Z28 and I have noticed that at night time when I have the lights on the dash lights, interior lights, and headlights flicker just a bit. Most of the time it is barely noticeable and other people can't even tell it is doing it but I can tell because I am **** like that. I have done a search on this topic and it seemed that there were a few different things that people did to fix this problem. From what I could tell it seemed most people replaced the alternator and it fixed the problem. My car has 118k miles on it and I am pretty sure its the stock alternator. I am going to clean up the grounds on it for sure since that is easy but do you guys think I should try a new alternator as a first step to fixing this? thanks in advance.

I wouldn't replace it right away, I'd have it tested first.

I have a 2002 TA that only has 20,000 on it and it does the same thing. I noticed a split second flicker in the headlights but I guess now I'll notice the dash too I'm not going to worry about it unless it gets worse.

if it only does it at idle then the alt. will test out ok.

The replacement alt. will probably start to flicker again after a few thousand miles, sorry to say. Mine was flickering for years and then at 95k it went out and the replacement AZ Gold did not flicker for a few months... but then it start to.
