Default Need HVAC controls help

OK so I ran into this prob about a week ago. It seems that I have lost control of where to direct my heat. I have full control of how high and low the fan goes, and I have control of how hot or cold, but it is stuck on defrost and aimed at my feet. No matter where i put it even on AC or MAX AC it will not go anywhere but defrost and feet. I did some pokin around and found a yellow, blue, green, purple and orange wire that seem to be the vacuum lines that go into the HVAC controls some where. Does anyone know how I can fix this problem??? I'm stumped is it vacuum, electrical??? Thanks in advance

did you do any work on your engine? there is a vacuum line that comes off the back of the intake and goes into the firewall to the right of your computer. if anything happens to this vacuum you will loose your selector.

Yep, check the vacuum lines - sounds like you're in the "default" mode.

OK so I looked at it and sure as **** there is a "T" and it is broke to all hell. My question is how should I go about fixing this? Where would I find a replacement?

Most auto parts store have a little section with various vacuum fittings, nipples, T's and such. Bring whatever is left of your old one so you have something to refer to and you should be able to find a replacement.

Go to gm that is not a t it is a one way check valve that holds vaccum for a/c under WOT conditions to keep it from falling to the floor and defroster. It is about ten bucks new.

Ok so you knew it had a check valve most on here call the check valve the T. Since this is the case any autoparts store will have the T you need.

I have the same problem, however my T connector looks good! I just changed the transmission and i am afraid i might have knocked off the vacum hose off the back of the intake! Does anyone know where it is located at the back of the intake? I can't hardly see anything!!!!

My moms 00 Z28 had the same issue. That damn T just up and broke one day. They just picked up a T at the local auto parts store, and its been perfect ever since.
