Clunking noise when turning. Help please.
Clunking noise when turning. Help please. Ok so when I'm backing out of my driveway in the morning, and I have my wheel turned all the way to one side, there is a bad clunking noise coming from what sounds like the front right wheel. I can't really tell but it only happens when the wheel is turned all the way to one side or the other.
Sounds like something is loose.
The best way to check something like this is with the vehicle on a lift where the front suspension is at full droop. Then shake the tires and see what moves. Alternately, raise the car on jackstands and shake tires...
Shake tires up and down and then left and right. Have a friend underneath the car to see if anything makes a noise or looks loose.
