SES light, but no codes

SES light, but no codes My SES light came on the other day. I went to a few Checkers to get the code pulled.. NOTHING.. The OBD II wouldn't even scan my car. As soon as the guys hit the button to start scanning the OBD would shut off and restart itself. The first one I thought was a malfunctioning scanner, then I thought the second one was user error, but when a third one did the same thing I gave up..
I've been told to drive my car until something happens, but I'm flying out of state tomorrow and wont be back until March. So my car has to sit for a while.
I'm just completely lost.. Either the computer is going out or the connector on my car isn't working to give any codes.

Hey Camero Girl,
Have a safe flight. As for the OBD not working - check the cigarette lighter fuse. It may have blown. I am fairly sure that the OBD port is connected through that fuse.
If the OBD port is inop the SES light will illuminate, but you will not have a code.
Good luck and I hope this is the issue.
P.S. - Easiest way to check is to try to push the lighter in to see if it works or try a 12v small appliance - like cell phone charger. IF it does not work... BINGO - that is the culprit.

I knew I thought I saw a post about that somewhere else before, but I couldn't be sure.. I would try the cigarette lighter, but I don't have one in my car and I don't have anything is able to be plugged into it.. LOL.. I have a car charger, but I don't know what happened to it.. I haven't seen it since May. I can have my mom use her car charger while I'm gone..
