Battery maintenance OK, this may seem like a stupid question but I honestly know very little about cars in general and I did a search first for this.
What is the best way to clean my car battery?
I have a 2002 Z28, I simply do not know and I realize it is one of the most basic things. What tools do I need and what is the procedure.

I could tell a fairly long story about a major problem I had with this vehicle that cost me a lot of money and time that ultimately involved the battery but I will spare you.

Basically its a mixture of a baking soda and water to clean the terminals, and use a wire and brush to scrub them. Which reminds me, when i was in auto shop we had a little kit that came with all sorts of scrubs and wires to clean a battery, pretty neat...
auto parts stores sells a special wire brush to scrape 'em which works pretty well but a regular wire brush works great also and has more uses then just battery terminals. When it's all clean lube it up with some vaseline, it helps keep it from corroding
If your car sits for more then a month at a time you should invest in a battery tender, it will extend the life of your battery. Both of my f-bodys don't get driven much in the winter, so they both have a battery tender on them.
