Default Overheating Problem Please Help

sooo my water pump seized completely, i changed the whole housing and pump. started it ran and than temperature goes over the roof antifreeze shoots from the open cap the pump is circulating but the heat isn't hot? is there a way to bleed the system on these cars? well i was stuck i broke the thermo stat off on purpose so it doesn't over heat and its fine now but i pout a new one in and same problem so right now im driving with no thermo stat and with it in keeps overheating??

Borrow an aftermarket gauge or use something to test the exact water temp. ('99 and newer are known for having "fake" temp gauge).
Water will push out of the radiator if the cap is off.
After you drive the car and let it cool down for a while, does the coolant level go down any in the radiator or in the overflow tank?
Replace the radiator cap.

keep car level when filling the coolant, open the cap and watch the coolant flow, continue to fill until its a consitant flow...make sure you have no bubbles in the block

If you need a good write up on bleeding/purging the ls1 cooling system you should check out ls1howto.com. They have a couple tricks that make it real quick and easy to do, like disconnecting the TB coolant tube to vent the air out of the system as you fill it up.
