Default anti-theft problems

i have a 2000 z28 and i havent been able to get it started the last couple of weeks. when i try to turn the car on the security light pops on and i cant get it to start. it has been doing it for awhile now probably 3 months but i used to be able to wait a little while the it would start again but the security light would stay on and i just got a new keyless entery and a new key today to see if that was the problem but it didnt work. can anyone help me please?

Happened to me a couple of times. The resistor in the key gets old and loses its ability to let current pass through the resistor and turn off the anti-theft system and start the car. Just leave the key in the ignition until the light turns off, or you will have to replaced the key. If you have the spare set that you never used try using that one from now on. Should solve your problem.
