Default No Heat

It takes about 5-10 minutes for the engine to warm up, but once it's there I still get cool air blowing instead of hot. I've flushed the coolant system, changed thermostats, and replace the heater core. Nothing seems to help!

ANY Ideas?
Thanks in advance.

Heater control valve? Not sure if our cars have one. Had to replace it on my old chevy truck I had. Could also be air in the cooling system. Are you loosing coolant? This could be indicative of a larger problem.

Well if you have changed all that stuff and still have no heat I'd say it's a problem with you HVAC controls.

i agree. Engine warms up + heater core not clogged + blower fan working should = heat unless the controls are F'ing it up.

Are you using a 160 degree thermostat? I have one in my 93 T/A and when it is cold out my car will not blow hot air. If I use a 180 degree it will blow hot air.

You still get some heat with a 160° stat. I have one. It still warms up enough to heat up the interior. When temps drop below 30°F, it takes longer but you still get some heat.

Make sure your controller **** is actually turning the shaft of the controller. I've seen it happen where the **** notch rounds off and doesn't spin the shaft.

I agree with the following...

160-180* coolant should still somehow translate into warm air. maybe not like 210* coolant, but still...

i got a 160* T-stat and my air still gets hot.

Well I can hear the HVAC controls moving parts in the dash. Heat works fine in the summer though.

I'm confused. Is it blowing cold, cool, or warm? It makes no sense that your heat would work in the summer (or that you would even try it in the summer) and not in the winter. Is it working now? What ° thermostat are you running?

Throw in a stock temp thermo, re bleed, and if that still doesnt work, its in the HVAC controls, maybe even a vaccume leak.

Have you checked the heater hoses?? One could be blocked internally and preventing coolant from getting to the heater core causing the air to never heat up, just another thought.....
